Material Behavior, Damage, and Surface Treatment
Development of behavior and/or damage models integrating directly or indirectly observable physical parameters across the three major material families: metals, composites, and polymers.
Themes to be developed include:
- Characterization & Mechanical Modeling of Surfaces and Interfaces.
- Surface and Interface Morphology.
- Rough, Three-Dimensional Contact.
- Mechanics and Damage of Materials in Relation to their Microstructure.
- Behavior of Metallic Materials under Aggressive Environments.
- Development of Specific Experimental Approaches Associated with a Modeling Framework.
